Formula Forty Fluid Design
In 1987, Andrew Nyhart and John Priestley designed Fluid Design, a Formula Forty catamaran at M.I.T. As a partnership they built the hulls at Lyman Morse Boats in Thomaston, Maine. Fluid Design was finished and launched in July 1988 in East Boston. Andrew campaigned the boat in ProSail throughout the United States in the country’s first professional sailing series. When he has the time, Andrew still sails Fluid Design on Long Island Sound.
